ABOUT KATIE
YOUR COACH
I've been running for the past 20 years - cross-country, track, and countless road races in between. Over the past nine years I've run 15 marathons, cut my time from 4:50 to a 3:16 BQ, and run Boston 2x. I've done everything wrong and a lot of things right. That experience is what I bring to every athlete I coach.
I believe in consistency, hard work, and redefining the limits. I am passionate about helping others reach and surpass what they thought was possible.
I work with beginners, competitive age-groupers, and everyone in between — remotely and in-person. What my athletes have in common isn't their pace. It's their mindset.
If you are willing to do the work, I'll make sure it counts.

You need a GPS watch to track your runs — that's the one non-negotiable. Beyond that, I'll work with whatever you already have.

Every plan is built specifically for you — your current fitness, your goal race, and your schedule. I don't hand out cookie-cutter plans. You'll get a weekly structure with specific workouts, paces, and mileage that builds toward your goal. Plans are adjusted as we go based on how your training is progressing.

I coach athletes remotely from anywhere and I offer in-person sessions for local athletes in the Boston area through the Full Coaching + plan, subject to availability. If you're not local, remote coaching works just as well — most of my check-ins and feedback happen through calls and email anyway.

ChatGPT hasn't run a marathon. Runna can build a decent program — but neither can draw from actual experience to understand why you fell apart at mile 18 on your training run. I've cut 1 hour and 34 minutes from my full marathon time by figuring out what works and what doesn’t work firsthand. When something isn't working, I don't run an algorithm — I pick up the phone. No app replaces a coach who's been where you're trying to go.
-
Absolutely. I coach runners of all levels — from first-timers toeing their very first start line to competitive age-groupers chasing big PRs. What matters isn't where you are right now. It's where you want to go and your willingness to do the work to get there.
-
I specialize in the half and full marathons but also love the 5k and 10k. Whether you're running your first 5K or trying to BQ, I've been there and I know what it takes.
-
Hard enough to make you better, not so hard that it breaks you. That's the line between progress and injury — and I've been on both sides of it. Injury prevention is the number one priority, crushing PRs is the second.
